Hamilton Team Sparkle at Pittodrie

A HAMILTON team which had been specially strengthened for the occasion gave as fine an exhibition of goal-scoring yesterday as has been seen at Pittodrie for many a long day.

The score suggests that the Dons were outplayed. This was not the case. They had as much of the game as their opponents.
At the same time, a well-balanced Accies side always gave the impression that they had something in hand.
The damage was done in the brief space of five minutes late in the first half. In that short time Hamilton rattled on four goals. All were well taken. It was marksmanship at its best.
There was some clever football from both sides, but the visitors were the smarter and more polished company. They had a splendid 'keeper in Crozier, and Carabine was a reliable left back.

OUTSTANDING HALF-BACK

The visitors had the outstanding halfback afield in Jarvie. The left half was strong in the tackle and forced on play in fine style. Mooney proved himself a dangerous left winger, with a terrific shot, while McAloon and Harrison were smart inside forwards.
Graham was the better Aberdeen back, and George Thomson at centre half got through a power of work. Pattillo, a dashing leader, took the honours in attack, with Williams a close second.
Hamilton started their "daft' goalscoring spell about ten minutes from the interval. Mooney was the instigator. He picked up a through pass from Jarvie and found the net with a magnificent drive.
Two minutes later Harrison beat Scott in the tackle and his shot entered the net off the post. Wilson followed with the third. George Thomson missed a long lob from Dykes, and the Accics' leader outpaced the centre-half to score smartly.

CORNER HEADED HOME

Wilson was also responsible for the fourth counter. He headed home corner from Mooney. Aberdeen got their goal ten minutes after the start of the second half when Pattillo headed into the net from a corner from Christie.
The Dons had re-formed their team. Williams was at inside-right, with Christie on the wing and Bain at outside-left. They failed to increase their total, although they were unfortunate on more than one occasion.
Hamilton got their fifth goal late in the period, Harrison netting from a pass from Wilson.
