In the second of the home-and-home finals for the Scottish Second XI. Cup competition at Paisley, St Mirren 'A" defeated Aberdeen "A" by three goals to nothing. In the first final at Pittodrie the teams divided two goals. With the aid of a strong wind, St Mirren pressed, but Aberdeen defended in good style. After fifteen minutes the homesters almost took the lead when Connor struck the upright. The Aberdeen defence showed up well, but the goal fell to a shot by McDonald. Aberdeen attacked strongly, but their defence was again pierced when Clark got through to beat Blackwell. Although having the wind advantage in the second period, Aberdeen failed to reduce the leeway. McHale almost scored when Robertson punched his shot over the bar for a fruitless corner. The Paisley forwards had a spell of attacking and increased their lead through McDonald. At the other end Robertson saved from Yorston. Subsequently St Mirren were awarded a penalty, but Barclay struck the upright. Aberdeen finished with ten men, Spencer having to retire injured.
