About 1500 spectators saw Aberdeen defeat an Aberdeen junior team by seven goals to three at Pittodrie Park last night.
Even play marked the opening, Yorston at one end hitting the post, and Shearer at the other was only inches wide with a good effort. After twenty minutes' play McFarlane gave Aberdeen the lead, and five minutes later Yorston increased their total off a cross from Wilson. Aberdeen did not exert themselves unduly, but increased their lead to three through McFarlane before the interval. Immediately on the resumption McFarlane added another to complete his "hat trick." Shortly afterwards Thoirs hooked a centre by McKenzie past his own 'keeper to bring the Aberdeen total to five. The juniors broke away immediately after, and a swerving shot by Spence completely deceived Yuill and entered a corner of the net. The juniors improved a little after this, and smart work by Smith resulted in Milne scoring with a good effort. Before the finish McFarlane and Yorston had added two more goals for Aberdeen, and Smith one from a penalty for the juniors.
