Aberdeen 'A' Beaten At Paisley
Aberdeen "A " suffered a somewhat unexpected reverse at Paisley where St Mirren "A" defeated them by three goals to one.
Falloon, the Aberdeen outside right, who was under observation by the Irish selectors gave a smart display and may yet be "capped " for Ireland.
The Pittodrie right-winger was prominent at the start and from his centre Polland almost counted. St Mirren retaliated vigorously, and from a corner Blackwell saved from Nicol. The Aberdeen 'keeper was kept busy, but succeeded in keeping his charge intact. In an Aberdeen raid Merrie got through, but his shot was off the mark. Falloon again took the eye with clever work and from another of his crosses Fotheringham saved luckily from Merrie. The home team once more resumed the offensive, and from long range Jamieson gave them the lead. A minute later Morgan counted a second time.
St Mirren started the second period where they had left off, and Blackwell fisted clear from McGregor. Merrie was injured and resumed limping. Newman, with a smartly taken goal, brought the home total to three. At this stage Aberdeen were unlucky to be three goals in arrears. Over eagerness on part of the Pittodrie forwards nullified scoring chances. Towards the end Aberdeen rallied and three minutes from the finish Merrie opened Aberdeen's account.
