Conwell Outstanding Against Q.P. Strollers.
After a fairly even first half, Aberdeen 'A" assumed complete command in this Alliance League game at Hampden, and won comfortably by three goals to one. It was one of their best displays of the season. The outstanding personality in the game was Conwell, who put up a brilliant display in the inside right berth for the Young Dons. Time and again he "wandered" the home defence to give his colleagues chances to score, which were not taken advantage of. Kirton (Banks o' Dee) and Wattie (Loco. Works), who played left half and outside left respectively for the visitors, combined well together. Wattie got across some fine balls from the left wing. Aberdeen "A" were first to settle, and Love and Wattie both had good tries, but in a Queen's breakaway D. Westland was tested by Kyle. The visitors were soon on top, and Westland (J.) gave them the lead from close in. Near the interval Westland was adjudged by the referee to have crossed the line in saving a shot from Laird, and the referee awarded a goal. There was only one team in it in the second half, and it was certainly not Queen's Park. Conwell meandered through the defence on his own and put the Young Dons ahead with a brilliant effort. Keeping up the attack, Aberdeen "A" went further ahead when Love found the net. Until the end the visitors held an unquestionable superiority.
