Aberdeen 'A' Find It Easy

Margin Should Have Been Greater.

St Mirren "A" were fortunate that their margin of defeat was not larger in the Alliance League fixture with Aberdeen A at Pittodrie. As an attacking force the Paisley side were seldom in the picture, their defence was kept busy most of the time.
The young Dons' forwards did not always have the best of luck with their shooting, but even so they should have won by a bigger margin.
The visiting defence was kept busy during the opening period, and after tweny minutes Scott opened the home account. Credit for the goal must go to Ritchie Smith, who beat two men before Scott got his foot to the ball.

Tale of Two Penalties.

Immediately before this Ritchie, the home skipper, had missed a penalty, but five minutes after the first counter Reid made the score two from another penalty.
Latimer notched a simple goal for the Saints soon after half-time. Bennett (East End) allowed an easy shot to trickle over the line. Shortly after this Latimer had a great run in which he beat several opponents before testing the 'keeper.
For Aberdeen "A," Temple, Reid, Gavin, Ritchie, Warnock, and Devine were best. Mclvor, the newcomer from Kirkintilloch Rob Hoy, did not fit in at inside right. Bennett (East End), who kept goal, got little-to do, but made a blunder when Latimer scored.
For the Paisley reserves McKay was a good 'keeper. Tulip was the better back, and of the others only Muir, Rafferty, and Latimer impressed.
