Four Goals For Warnock At Pittodrie

Hibs A Fall to the Young Dons

Aberdeen "A" brought their total for three games up to twenty-one on Saturday when they took Alliance League points from Hibs Reserves at Pittodrie. The Young Dons were the superior team throughout, but their task was made easier by some rash play by the Easter Road defence.
In the second half the visitors conceded three penalties, two of which were converted, and this contributed greatly to their defeat. The visitors were further handicapped by the fact that they had to play with three juniors in their ranks.
Only eight minutes had gone when Warnock started the scoring. The outside-right slipped through a pass from Bain, and four minutes later Devine smacked the ball high into the net out Hill's reach. This completed the scoring in the first half, although only splendid defensive play by Logan and McDonnell prevented Hibs' goal from further downfall.

Three Penalties

Warnock scored grand second goal for the home side within two minutes of the resumption, and then followed a hectic spell in which the Young were awarded three penalties. Temple failed to convert the first of these, but from the two others Warnock made no mistake, bringing his own total to four.
Westland was never troubled in the home goal, so well was he protected by Temple and Urquhart. Gavin was the best half, although Kirton (Banks o' Dee) did well. All five forwards played well, Scott being unlucky not to open his account.
Hibs were best served by McDonnell, Logan and Farrell. There was not a forward to compare with the last-named, who was continually providing openings which his front line colleagues failed to turn to advantage.
