ABERDEEN "A" FAIL TO LAST PACE
Five goals were scored in the first half and six in the second of the Alliance League fixture between Hearts and Aberdeen at Tynecastle. The Edinburgh team got seven of them, and on the run of the game they deserved the points. This victory enhances their prospects of honours. Hearts got a flying start with a couple goals the first fifteen minutes. Aberdeen rallied in fine style, and goals by Brady and Mills levelled the scores. Just on half-time Hearts regained the lead. Within five minutes of the restart Taylor had the ball in the net for the equaliser. It was now case of "sleeves up." Hearts got a shock when Aberdeen took the lead through Brady, and when Russell, the home winger, went off for a time, the odds were in favour of the visitors. In the last fifteen minutes, however, Hearts came away strongly, and Mauchline (2), Hume and Donoghue found the net. The Aberdeen halves were not so sound as their opposite numbers, and Brady and Scott were best in a clever attack.Source: Press & Journal, 8th November 1937
