Armstrong Gets Four Out Of Six

ABERDEEN RESERVES' EASY WIN AT LOVE STREET

Aberdeen A had an easy win over St Mirren A in a Reserve League match at Love Street, Paisley, last night. All over the Dons were more than a match for their opponents. Armstrong had four of their six goals.

Saints kicked off against the breeze but were soon repulsed. Armstrong carried the ball over to the left and crossed an attractive ball but there were no takers. Biggs next caught the eye with some clever opening-out work. A Strauss corner had the home goal in danger but there was not a Don near enough the ball to put it home.
Gradually the Dons were taking a firm grip of things and Saints were more or less outplayed. Ferguson came near, but Kelly clutched the ball and cleared. Armstrong was a live wire and the Dons' leader opened the scoring when he accepted a quick pass from Strauss.
Saints revived for a spell but Kelly was absolutely safe in the Aberdeen goal. Just before the interval Nicholson put the visitors further ahead with a grand thirty yards' drive.
Aberdeen had matters pretty much their own way in the second half. Armstrong was among the goals right away. After he had netted, McLintock reduced the leeway, but Armstrong completed his hat-trick soon after. Brady got a fifth for the Dons and Armstrong made it half dozen.
Aberdeen played as a team, with Armstrong outstanding for his nippy work, for Saints, Ferguson and Wilson were best.
