Young Dons Lack Fire

The Young Dons have still to record their first win this season. They drew 1-1 in an unexciting League Cup game against Queen of the South "A" at Pittodrie on Saturday.

They had enough opportunities in the first half to put the issue beyond doubt, but the attack lacked fire and scoring chances were thrown away.
Of the line Hume and Callender were most effective and this pair were responsible for Aberdeen's in goal twenty-five minutes. Hume sent a long through pass down the middle. Callender raced after it and managed to hook the ball into the net via the crossbar.
Murphy equalised for Queen of the South almost immediately after the Interval, and after this neither side looked like scoring.
Cooper and McKenzie were best in the home defence, and McVean was the most forcing half back. Though the extreme [Text ends here in the newspaper - AFCHT]
