Two Only
Only two members of the Aberdeen reserve team could claim honours from Saturday’s game against Falkirk "A" at Pittodrie. They are Pearson, left winger, and Walker, the provisionally signed right back from Inverurie Loco Works.
Pearson was the only forward afield with any constructive ideas, and time and again his tricky footwork had the Falkirk defence in trouble. Walker took the eye with his tackling and hefty clearances.
After Newlands had neutralised an early goal by Morrison, the young Dons should have been well ahead by the interval. Dunbar missed two easy chances created bt Newlands.
The second halt was all Aberdeen, with only an occasional breakaway by Falkirk. A combination of hasty shooting and good work in the Falkirk goal by McInnes kept the score down, and it was left to Pearson to score a perfect goal and win the match.
