Scott Anderson and the rest of the coaching staff took the lads to the North East for a mini pre season ahead of the second half, which included an excellent 2-1 at Sunderland at the Academy Of Light on Wednesday.
They started brightly and capatin Ethan Ross, fresh off his own break with the first team in Dubai, fired the hosts ahead early on. Tyler Mykyta then made it two before the break and The Dons were good value for their lead.
In the second half United made more of a fist of it and scored twice through seperate set pieces. It looked as though the hosts would have to settle for a point, but Kyle Dalling headed home from a corner with virtually the last touch of the game.
An excellent three points considering United battled back and the team can take the confidence into next week?s Youth Cup tie against Kilmarnock.
