After the credible draw in Bulgaria Aberdeen attracted their biggest Euro crowd to date as 29,000 crammed Pittodrie. The crowd were rewarded after only seven minutes when Robb steered a Forrest pass past the keeper to settle the home side. Six minutes before the break Taylor took advantage of a defensive slip and hit a screamer into the net to give the Dons a 2-0 interval lead. The Dons could have added more after the interval but the crowd went home happy anyway with a second round spot secured. The draw was not to be favourable as Aberdeen were to face Spanish opposition for the first time.
