A superb display by Aberdeen with new signing Hans Gillhaus and his striking partner Charlie Nicholas in rampant form. A huge roar greeted Charlie's first strike, his first goal of the season, and he promptly made up for lost time by grabbing a further two. The Dons even had the luxury of a missed penalty but the Pittodrie faithful went home delighted with the knowledge that Aberdeen were again top of the league.
