Against the run of play the visitors took the lead as Aberdeen were guilty of poor marking at a corner. The Dons stuck to their task however and equalised from a free kick. The ball was played into the danger area by MaCauley and O'Leary headed back across goal where Kiely turned the ball past the keeper. O'Leary was involved in the second when he went on a strong run beating three or four players before being brought down inside the box.
The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and McInnes stepped up to fire the ball high into the roof of the net. Aberdeen then carved out several chances after the break with Kiely bringing a fine save out of the keeper and Bruce being denied by the woodwork. The Dons paid for these misses when the visitors equalised with ten minutes remaining.
Neil Cooper spoke to Redweb after the match. "I was pleased with the overall performance but once again we gave away cheap goals. We need to tighten up at set plays and make sure the markers are picking up their players. It's something we need to work on.
"Considering we had two experienced players missing in Considine and Fraser it was a young side today and I wouldn't like to be too critical."
