The home team got themselves off to the perfect start, going in front after eleven minutes when a Richie HART free kick was deflected past Derek Soutar by Andrew Considine.
The Dons levelled in 25 minutes when excellent work from Richard Foster ended with a cross that was headed home firmly by Steve LOVELL. However with seven minutes of the half remaining, Caley Thistle restored their advantage when ex-Don Rory McALLISTER fired home from twenty yards after Graham Bayne had dispossessed Considine.
Ten minutes after the restart, Aberdeen equalised with Foster again involved when he found Jamie Winter with a pass. Winter then touched the ball on for John STEWART to bullet the ball past Michael Fraser. Then in 72 minutes, the visitors took the lead for the first time when a Neil McVitie corner was headed home by CONSIDINE.
With three minutes of the game left, Sandy Clark's team made certain of the points when STEWART converted from the spot after Kyle Macaulay had been brought down in the area.
