SPL Reserves

19/05/2009 | KO: 14:00

The Dons reserve team finished off their season against reserve champions Celtic with a goalless but very entertaining draw at a cold Pittodrie. Both teams missed good chances as the game flowed from end to end but neither team could make the breakthrough.

Sandy Clark spoke to RedWeb after the game. "It was a good performance and a good game. Again we had another very young team but Stuart Duff at the back had a calming influence, as did big Bert in goal. That little bit of experience makes a big difference. There were a lot of learning curves out there for our guys. Celtic were playing a different system to what some of our boys were used to Once we changed things a bit tactically we improved There was a lot of effort out there, one or two inconsistent moments which you get with young players and things we will need to work on, but over the piece ;I was happy. "The season overall has been ok. I think we have landed up in fifth position in the reserve league. That is not too bad when you look at how young the team has been and how many injuries we have had over the campaign. When the young players have played it has been enjoyable for me because you see them progressing and that is the most important thing."
