Although the weather yesterday was all that could be desired, there was a meager attendance at Pittodrie when Aberdeen opposed Dundee in an Inter-City Mid-Week League game.

Aberdeen were destined to score first, and a goal came in a simple manner. Wood pirouetted with the ball, and then crossed over to the right, where Wilson got possession. The half-back steadied and drove the ball right into the net. The Dundee defence were under the impression that the ball was going behind, and Lyall made no attempt to save. This was after 15 minutes.
Soye got off on the right and sent finely across for Wood to score after Neilson had missed, and Aberdeen were two up. Near the interval Dundee applied the pressure, and Hume twice got in the way of shots by Ross. Dundee got a corner, and Greig fisted clear.

The Dundee defence was in difficulties right on the resumption, when Walker rush through and headed past. On their second visit to Lyall Aberdeen scored. The left made ground, and Neilson crossed for Walker to drive hard into the net. This third success inspired Aberdeen, and after Wood had dribbled well up the field, the ball went to Soye, whose centre was well cleared by Young. Both teams continued to play a sporting game, and play was neither one-sided nor uninteresting.
With their strong lead, Aberdeen took matters easy, with the result that Dundee came more into the picture. Greig, however, was unbeatable, and he scraped away a ball from Satterthwaite which might easily have counted. Wyllie had are rare chance to score after Robertson had miskicked, but he missed badly. He sent in a swift shot, which Greig failed to hold, and several Dundee players rushed in the ball hit the upright and stuck just over the goal-line. Greig made a gallant effort to pull it back, and succeeded, but the referee decided that a goal had been scored. Dundee kept up the attack after this, and the hand the Aberdeen defence tide in a knot, but Greig was never far away in goal, and once he tipped past a good effort from Walker. A corner fell to Aberdeen, but they failed to improve upon it, and Walker, after having hard lines, ballooned high over the bar. In the last minute Satterthwaite scored a second goal for Dundee. It was quite an interesting game right up to the close. Dundee played well, and certainly Aberdeen, if they deserved to win, were not value for more than their goal lead. The game ended in semi-darkness.
