About 2000 spectators saw a listless game at Pittodrie, where Aberdeen beat a select team from the Aberdeen Junior Association by the one goal. The juniors nearly scored in the opening minutes, when Anderson, out of his goal, was robbed of possession, but the danger was cleared. The junior goal had a narrow escape from Wright following a fine centre by Keith, and Rae saved well from a free kick on the penalty line. Although often pressing, the juniors never looked like scoring, but their own goal was frequently in danger. In the second period the juniors made strenuous efforts to obtain the lead, but generally they were well held, although on one occasion, after a clever combined run, Anderson shot high from a good position. In the later stages Aberdeen held the upper hand, and Wright scored the only goal. Best for Aberdeen were Brewster, Wright and Keith; and for the juniors, Rae, Grubb and Furneaux.
