Dons Crash at Dundee

Dundee United knocked the bottom from Aberdeen's unbeaten North-Eastern League record at Tannadice Park on Saturday. The Dons disappointed. They have no excuse. Certainly Lyon received a leg injury in the early stages, but that did not materially affect the result. The United played open football and deserve every credit. They were unquestionably the better team. The Dons indulged in too much close passing. A goal in the first minute acted like a tonic to the United. Ross was the scorer. He headed over Johnstone into the net as the 'keeper left his charge in an attempt to intercept Junior's cross. The second goal came in twenty-five minutes. Holland neatly heading home a cross from Smart. Midway through the second half Ross crashed a pass from Holland into the net, and shortly afterwards Junior hooked the ball into the net with terrific force as it came over from Ross. Holland completed the nap hand in the closing minutes.
