Aberdeen A and Dundee A met in a Scottish reserve league fixture before 3000 spectators at Pittodrie, the game ending in a win for the homesters by 2 goals to 1. The teams were:-

Aberdeen A: Greig; Harper, Robertson; Towns, Watson, Davidson; Hay, Hendry, W. D. Nichol, Edgar, Neilson.
Dundee A: Philip; McRobbie, Lawson; Comrie, McEwan, Gowans; Law, Philip, Langlands, Graydon, Dickson.
Referee - Mister J. Nisbet, Edinburgh.

After the first quarter of an hour, play in the opening period favoured Dundee. Both teams started well, and showed much method in the outfield work. As the game progressed, however, the standard of play fell, and the keen rivalry which always characterises meetings of Aberdeen and Dundee asserted itself. This was responsible for many mistakes on the field. Nichol was the first to catch the eye on the Aberdeen's side, and he on several occasions gave Philip some trouble. Once Dundee got off, however, the home defence were in great difficulties, and had it not been for the sterling play of Harper at back, the visitors would undoubtedly have scored. On one occasion the Dundee goal had a narrow escape. Lawson missed his kick, and Philip, running out, just cleared before Nichol got his foot on the sphere. Dundee were persistent in their attacks, and the goal which came was inevitable. Law crossed well in front of goal, and the home backs failing to clear, Dickson opened the scoring. For a time it looked as if Dundee would increase their lead, but Harper did good work, but half-time arrived with the score - Dundee A 1, Aberdeen A 0.

The opening of the second half was marked by a rush by Nichol, but McRobbie cleared. Aberdeen were not to be beaten back, however, and for the next few minutes Philip had his hands full. A particularly good try by Neilson skimmed the bar. Then Edgar missed a good chance of equalising by hesitating, while Hendry shot past from close range. Dundee broke away on several occasions, and Greig's goal was often endanger. When the custodian run out and cleared from Langlands and Graydon, his charge had a narrow escape, and on another occasion Phillips shot five from a favorable position. Nichol raised the enthusiasm with a great drive from 40 yards, which scraped over the bar. Then Neilson had a lovely cross, which Hendry just failed to convert. Aberdeen's persistent pressure was bound to tell, and Edgar, while cutting into goal, was fouled in the penalty area, and Nichol, who took the kick, gave Philip no chance. Spurred on by the success, the homesters rushed down the field in great style, and ere another minute had passed Neilson put them on the lead. After this, Langlands headed several raids into Aberdeen territory, but the backs met these in determined fashion, and the game ended with Aberdeen attacking.
