Aberdeen's Reserve XI travelled to Forfar, where they opened the season by a Northern League fixture with the Athletic. The teams were:-
Forfar Athletic: Paterson; Skene, Gibb; Young, Chapman, Leighton; Easson, Low, Bowman, Brown, Petrie.
Aberdeen A: Greig; Hannah, Harper; Davidson, Watson, Robertson; Hay, Towns, Hendry, Edgar, Neilson.
Referee - Mister A. Cathro, Lochee.
Aberdeen attacked strongly in the opening minutes, but Forfar gradually repelled them, and Greig was kept busy. In a scrimmage Forfar were awarded a penalty, but Greig saved, and the scoring sheet was blank at half time.
Seven minutes after the resumption, bowman scored for Forfar, who continued to have the better of the argument, and before the close added another goal through Low.
