Wishaw Thistle 1 - 1 Aberdeen

HT Score: Wishaw Thistle 0 - 1 Aberdeen

Scottish Reserve League
Wishaw Thistle scorers: Craig
Aberdeen scorers: Towns.

04/03/1911 | KO:

At Wishaw. teams:-

Wishaw: Wakeman; Watt, Barclay; Langhland, McFarlane, Ramsay; Main, Barr, Wilson, Craig, Carswell.
Aberdeen: Greig; Hannah, Harper; Findlay, Macfarlane, Low; Hay, Towns, Watson, Davidson, Edgar.

Aberdeen kicked off with the strong wind behind them. The initial exchanges were in favour of Wishaw, who forced two corners, but failed to score. Play was afterwards transferred to the Thistle's territory.
Watson put in a rocket shot, which Wakeman fisted out. Success came Aberdeen's way after 20 minutes' play, Towns doing the needful. The visiting forwards continued to harass the home defence, who were beat at every point. With the exception of the first 5 minutes play centred around where shows goal, and but for Wakeman the thistle would have come out of the first half with a larger account than the one goal against them.

One crossing over Wishaw showed up better, but combination in their front line was lacking. The visitors put up a good defence, and work hard to keep the lead. A good try was made by Wilson, and to save Greig fisted past. Main placed well, and Craig scored, giving Greig no chance. Play was fast, with Wishaw the more dangerous.
