End of season play marked the order of the game between Aberdeen A and Renton, which was played at Pittodrie on Saturday before 1500 spectators. The result was a draw of one goal each. teams:-

Aberdeen A: Greig; Hannah, Macfarlane; Robertson, Watson, Low; Hay will, Martin, towns, Edgar, Neilson.
Renton: Needham; McLintock, Black; Carroll, Robb, Bruce; Moran, Carr, McColl, McKinley, Stewart.
Referee - Mister P. Gillespie, Aberdeen.

Although hampered by a strong wind, Aberdeen took up the running at the start, and Towns was almost through, while Hay followed up some good work by sending wide. For a considerable time the game developed a defensive duel, and with neither keeper much in the limelight, play was uninteresting, rendered all the more so by the misdirected kicking of the backs. Neither side were over-strenuous in their efforts, and the Aberdonians, and Edgar in particular, were more inclined to indulge in what must be dubbed a none too successful effort and the "exhibition" game. As time progressed, the home side settled down, but while Needham was often in the shootings or few of the many efforts directed his way carried much sting. He cleared a miskick by lack, but was ultimately beaten by a swift shot from Towns. Retaliative work by the Rentonian right forced Greig to concede a corner, but apart from this the visitors seldom looked like equalising in this period. Near the interval a heavy rainstorm broke over the recrossed ground, and made the conditions decidedly uncongenial to spectators and players.

Play over the second period was evenly distributed. The homesters were the more often the aggressors yet their attacks did not carry the same danger as did the spontaneous bursts of the visitors. McColl and McKinley had a promising raid direct from the restart, and Hannah cleared when the centre looked like going through. Subsequently the home van kept up sustained pressure on the Renton citadel, but Needham had seldom to touch the ball, mainly owing to the energetic play of his halves and backs. Stewart had several promising runs on the left, and from one of these Greig was called upon. The keeper fumbled shot, and before he could recover McColl rushed up and netted. After this Stewart cleverly beat Hannah and Macfarlane in turn, but Greig redeemed his previous terror by saving when the leading point seemed certain of coming. An Aberdeen revival followed, and after a bright run and centre by Neilson, Towns just missed with a likely shot. Hay, Martin, and Watson all had few tile tries, but Needham was never found wanting.
