Reserves Unluckily Beaten

In the reserve league, a thousand spectators, at Brockville, Aberdeen A were unfortunate to lose two Falkirk's second string by the only goal.

Aberdeen had the best of the opening exchanges. Cram broke through on the Falkirk left, and shot into King's hands, and at the other end Campbell, with a good opportunity, shot wide. Low was prominent for Aberdeen with powerful kicking. King caught the ball from a lovely corner by Cram, and cleared. Aberdeen pressed, and wood tested Adam. King had again to stop a shot from Cram. Even play followed. Falkirk forwards broke into the Aberdeen goal, but offside by Allan spoiled the chance. Aberdeen were now mostly on the defensive, the pressure being relieved by Dickson, who shot over the Falkirk bar. Aberdeen were down on the home goal at the interval.

Campbell had the Falkirk goal at his mercy, but shot past. Douglas with the goalkeeper in front of him, send over the bar. The Aberdeen forwards played up vigorously, but offside spoiled the chances, and Adam cleared finely, while Henderson and Laing defended well. Douglas had a brilliant run for Aberdeen, but was blocked on the goal line. From a shot by Bennie the ball bounded through off Edgar. Aberdeen pressed to the close.
