Brechin City 0 - 1 Aberdeen

The Aberdeen A team followed up their recent successes with the snatch Northern League win at Brechin, where they beat the City by the only goal, obtained near the close of the game.

At the start Aberdeen A immediately attacked, but their forwards muddled badly, and Dickson being given offside enabled Brechin to get down. Glen swung out too Law, after catching the leather from a behind, and the outside man travelled down and centred, but again offside terminated hostilities.
The ground was a trifle soft. There was not a little skidding going on. Glen got off for Brechin, and got sandwiched between the backs. Brechin stuck to it, and Glen got through, but was robbed of the ball by Millar, who took it from the toe of the centre just as he was in the act of shooting. A corner resulted, but nothing came of it, and then after some pretty play by Neilson two corners were forced by Aberdeen off Shand, but still no scoring. Campbell tried Elrick with the first decent shot of the match, but the keeper was safe, and at the other end Murray tried King with a good shot.
Brechin were now doing all the pressure, and Murray after forcing a corner sent in a fine cross, which resulted in a series of shots which never reached the goalkeeper but always rebounded off an opponent. Brechin were going great guns, but all to no purpose. Aberdeen got in the running, but Shand and Lyon saw to it that Elrick was never troubled. Glen got away, and forced Millar to give away a corner, but still nothing resulted.

Brechin opened the attack in the second half, but Aberdeen were soon off in determined fashion. Why and cleared finely, however, and soon and Brechin were at the other end. Campbell fouled his namesake on the other side, and referee Urquhart administered a word of warning. Brechin forced another corner, but nothing came of it. Play continued fast, and Murray had one or two good runs, but an absence of scoring robbed the game of a great deal of interest.
Douglas got through for the visitors and had a pop shot for goal, but the keeper was perfectly safe. Aberdeen were much keener no, and we're keeping up a steady attack, but the home defence was playing up grandly. Near to the close, Dickson secured the only goal, and Aberdeen A were deserving winners on the second half's play.
