Aberdeen's Scottish League team opposed a select eleven from the Highland League at Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon. The northern players put up a plucky fight, and were only beaten by 3 goals to 2.

The Highlanders started in promising fashion, but as the game progressed, Aberdeen asserted their superiority. Markey's charge had numerous narrow escapes, but by a break away by the visitors, Macdonald opened the scoring in clever fashion. The select eleven were surprising the Leaguers by their dash and vigour, and their play in the first half was particularly clever. Asher was a star in their attack, and his accurate shooting was in keeping with his skill iin the outfield. For half an hour the Highlanders had the best of matters, but during the closing quarter of an hour of the period Aberdeen practically monopolised the play. Their finishing, as a rule, was weak, although they were very unlucky. Half-time arrived with the Highlanders leading by a goal.

Four minutes after resuming Walker, accepting a fine cross from Soye, scored the equaliser. The Select again took the lead through Mackay. Aberdeen were not long behind, however, for main soon put them on level terms again. Ten minutes later the same player gave his team the lead. Soy was injured, and had to be carried to the pavilion, but it transpired that his injury was not serious. The spectators were impressed with the plucky display of the Highland Leaguers.
