Brisk Encounter With Highlanders

Aberdeen Reserves defeated Inverness Thistle in a Highland League engagement by 4-2. All over, the Reserves played the better football, but the Inverness team made a plucky fight. There were some brisk passages throughout, but play generally was not of a high order. The feature of the game was perhaps the performance of Calvert, a soldier at present on furlough, who occupied the inside-right position in the home eleven. His methods and ability gained the approval of the crowd, and he deserved the two goals which went to his credit. The other scorers for Aberdeen were McIntosh and Robertson, and for Inverness, Grant and Macdonald.
