Poor Game At Pittodrie

There were more spills than thrills at Pittodrie, where Aberdeen A gaines a two-goals victory before a fair attendance.
The game was poorly contested due to the fact that neither side had a player who could hold or make leeway with the ball nor exhibit any idea of judgement. The outstanding feature of the fixture was the display of Connon, who excelled all, particularly in regard to sharp-shooting. He seldom wasted an opportunity of testing the visiting custodian, who had good fortune on side in the second half. The visitors' defence was far from being a resolute one - in fact, both the goals scored by Mutch and J. Robertson were due to the defenders' faulty clearances and failure to cover up. Pearson, their goalkeeper, did not assist them too well either. He made no attempt to prevent Robertson's drive from counting, probably in view of his previous experience in collapsing in a pool of mud at the side the goal-post. Except for occasional bursts, the Cathkin raiders were never dangerous, and Lawrie had the easiest afternoons work this season. J. Robertson played well in the first half. He was always keen to try his luck at goal, and his point was fully justified. Middleton and Duggins performed with credit. They both sent across plenty useful centre, many of which might have been put to better advantage had their clubmates possesses the necessary finishing power. Mutch did not find the heavy-going to his liking. The home middle division were much ahead of their opponents' line. There was no comparison between the rival rear divisions. McBoyle was the hardest worker and the best defender on view.
So far this season the visitors have been unable to collect two points in away matches.
