Aberdeenshire Cup Semi Final

09/03/1912 | KO: 15:30

Triumphant Reserves

By defeating 'Varsity at Pittodrie on Saturday, Aberdeen A now qualify to meet Portsoy in the final round of the Aberdeenshire Cup. The game all over was far from being a typical cup-tie one, the display of neither team fulfilling the expectations of a large crowd. The exhibition given by 'Varsity especially was far from pleasing. MacEchern and JJ Simpson were undoubtedly the pick of the 'Varsity team, the latter showing up well at centre half. During the first half MacEchern gave a masterly display, but he was treated somewhat unsympathetically by his colleagues. The brothers Neilson played well for Aberdeen, while Edgar and Hannah showed up two advantage. The team could never be said to have been in difficulties throughout the game, and their 4-0 win was more than deserved.
