It would have needed a bad result at Pittodrie to set the Aberdeen supporters right in the "dumps" but the Young Dons saw to it that the Pittodrie fans had some consolation for the Paisley defeat. Some would "write down" the Young Dons big score by suggesting that the Airdrie "A" side was very weak. That may be the case but it would only be fair to state that the display served up by some of the Young Dons was very promising indeed.
