By defeating Dundee "A" by five goals to nothing at Dens Park, Aberdeen "A" go to the top of the League table. A combined run by the Dundee attack looked dangerous, but McNeill sent weakly past. At the other end Robertson saved a shot from Bruce at the expense of a fruitless corner. The Dundee custodian was kept busy for a time, but saved well. Continued pressure by the visitors ultimately was rewarded when McLeod scored from well out. Following this success, Cosgrove had two shots well stopped by Robertson. Aberdeen were again superior in the second half, and early increased their lead through McFarlane, who accepted a cross from Spencer. A free kick well taken by Ross resulted in Robertson holding from McFarlane. A few minutes later McFarlane got through on his own to Increase the Aberdeen total. A break-away by Dundee appeared dangerous, but McNeill headed past. After Cosgrove had scored, McFarlane brought the total to five, and got his own hat trick.
