Young Dons Slump In Second Half

We reached the third round of the Second XI Cup by beating Raith Rovers by three goals to one at Pittodrie. The Rovers surprised us with their enthusiasm and running power and if their finishing had been on par with their outfield play a shock could have resulted. Dougie Brown scored two good goals for us in the first half with Ian Gibson scoring the third. Raith replied with the best goal of the game, to complete the scoring in the second half. We did not play to our usual form, but our defence played well with Neil Cooper and Alec McLeish being the steadying influence.
