Aberdeen lost out to St Mirren by 3 goals to 2 in the final game of the season for the U20's at Brechin's Glebe Park. St Mirren were on top in the early stages and Baird thought he had given the visitors the lead with a header but the flag was up for offside. McDonald also went close on a couple of occasions and forced Burns into one smart stop. Aberdeen were playing some nice passing football without really threating the Saints defence. On the stroke of half time the game burst into life when The young Dons picked up the ball on the left from a St Mirren throw and McManus played a neat 1-2 with O'Sullivan before the striker went on to score with a low shot. The lead didn't last more than a minute though, when St Mirren were awarded a very dubious penalty. Michael Rose made a tackle on the edge of the box and the defender was adamant that he got the ball. Brown took the spot kick and just managed to squeeze it past Burns. Both teams could have scored further goals, when Riley put a shot just past the post and a great run from Craig Murray set McManus up but he fired wide of the target.
Saints went ahead on 56 minutes when poor defending from The Dons allowed a cross to come in and McDonald tapped in at the near post. McManus and Campanile both had chances with headers but neither could score while at the other end, Burns made a great save to deny Brown. Aberdeen did manage to get back on level terms on 75 minutes when O'Sullivan pounced on a chance and finished well. And O'Sullivan very nearly got a second shortly after with an effort from 40 yards. The St Mirren goalkeeper came out to clear with a header and O'Sullivan latched onto the ball and nearly scored from distance. Both teams pushed for a winner and in the final few moments it was the visitors who got it. A cross from the right was headed in by central defender Baird and the visitors took all three points back to Paisley
