Aberdeen having a blank date on their fixture card, arranged for a visit of Dundee's A team. Dundee kicked off, but soon got hemmed in, and their goalkeeper had repeatedly to save his charge. Gray opened with a grand shot, and the same player soon afterwards repeated the dose. McKay was responsible for the third. Dundee got a couple of points before half time, which finished Aberdeen 3, Dundee 2.
On resuming, the visitors pressed, and ultimately the equalising goal was got by Barlow. Aberdeen retaliated, and Mackie popped through the fourth goal for his side. A penalty gave Dundee a good chance, and the score was again put even. For the first time in the game the visitors got the lead; but did not retain it long, and a game, more conspicuous for the tall scoring than the good play, ended Aberdeen 5, Dundee 5.

A friendly match between these teams took place at Chanonry. There was a fair attendance. The teams were: Aberdeen: J. Mackie; Davidson, McConnachie; Henderson, Mackie, Thomson; Livingstone, Gray, Mackay, Clark, Shiach. Dundee: Stewart; McCulloch, Duncan; Donaldson, Ferguson, Guick ; Fyfe, Mclnroy, Fullarton, Shepherd, Barlow. Mr R. Turner acted as referee. In the early part of the game Stewart was called upon to negotiate some smart play by Gray and Shiach. and this he did very cleverly. After an abortive attack by the Dundonians, the home team got down and Gray commenced the scoring by a fine shot taken on the run, Dundee, however, had still to run the gauntlet, and though their backs made stout resistance, they had again to give under to Gray. The visitors now began in find their level, but though they showed a marked improvement, their efforts were still unsuccessful, as a third goal to the Aberdeen soon testified. Shortly afterwards Mackie was found wanting, and the local defence was undermined. A few minutes afterwards the Dundonians scored a second goal, and at half time scores stood: Aberdeen 3, Dundee A. 2.

The play of the visitors in the opening stages of the second half did not prove very effective, Davidson and McConnachie being invincible. On returning to the attack, however, they succeeded better, and Barlow squared the score by a "header." The visitors' attempt to secure the leading point proved of no avail, however, and the prize fell to the lot of the home team through a swift shot from Mackie, which the visitors' defence failed to save. The Dundonians again equalised by a penalty kick. The leading point shortly afterwards fell to the Dundonians, but the score was quickly balanced by the Aberdeen with a shot from the right. The remainder of the game, though well fought, resulted in no further scoring, the teams leaving the field with 5 goals each.
