About 1500 spectators witnessed the game between Aberdeen and Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. The Ayshire team made the pace at the start, and Colman and Munro required to be on the alert to keep their lines clear. Mckellar forced a corner, which, however, brought Kilmarnock no advantage. Aberdeen's turn came, but the forwards did not make the most of the chances, showing too much inclination for manoeuvring. Greig saved well from Armstrong. Aberdeen again made progress, and Blair had to clear from Macleod, while a shot from Main struck the crossbar. Culley obtained the first goal for Kilmarnock after 25 minutes' play. Goldie scored a second point, after Wylie had attempted to get through for Aberdeen. Ere the interval Culley added a third goal for his side.
Aberdeen resumed the game with 10 men, Munro having been injured. The result was a good deal of offside play. Wylie had several good runs, but did not finish strongly. Kilmarnock continued to have the better of the play, and the other two goals were scored for them by Culley and Armstrong respectively.
