We had another good win over Kilmarnock at Pittodrie beating the Killie youngsters by 5 goals to nil. Billy Williamson playing his first reserve team game for some time and playing a striker's roll obliged by scoring three goals for us. George Campbell came back to form and was rewarded with two goals. Eddie Thomson another member of the first team pool played at sweeper and by using his experience made his job easy.
Rodgers, Rougvie and Glennie the other members of our back four didn't have many problems in containing the Killie forwards, due to the fine work by our midfield trio of Reilly, Gibson and McMaster. Ian Gibson had his best game for us for some time, and his intelligent use of the ball was one of the features of the game. John Reilly improves with every game and once he gets full time training, John will be challenging for a first team place.
Our Captain John McMaster was always in evidence and was the goalmaker, having a part in four of the goals. Dougie Brown our other striker could have been on the score sheet with a little bit of luck, but he will have to learn that football is a team game. There were times when a team mate was in a better position to try for goal than he was, but rather than pass, Dougie elected to try a shot himself. He is a young lad and if he is prepared to listen he could be in with a chance of making the grade.
