The first round tie in this tournament was dominated by Aberdeen. Fraserburgh tried hard and never gave up - it was really their cup final - but the Aberdeen youngsters proved to be too strong and talented. They are obviously gaining from their Premier Reserve League experience.
Paul Bridgeford played soundly at centre half and Colin Milne and Euan Brydson linked to devastating effect up front. Milne scored 4 times, Brydson twice and Andrew McCafferty and Martin Hick also scored.
Aberdeen will now meet Huntly in the second round at Pittodrie later this month.
