ABERDEEN A ONLY DRAW. Queen's Park Strollers Hold Their Own at Hampden Park.

At Hampden Park, Glasgow, Queen's Park Strollers entertained Aberdeen A in an Alliance fixture, and although the young Dons trounced the amateurs at Pittodrie last Monday by five goals to two, they could only force a draw.
The amateurs started off auspiciously. Clark had Smith beaten with an angular shot, but the ball struck the post and ran along the goal-lin, and the 'keeper cleared. After two minutes' play the visitors opened their account through Mooney, who let go a fine drive, which had Johnstone well beaten.
Subsequently it was all the Dons, but the home defence refused to fall again. After 35 minutes' play the Strollers equalised. Cooper drove for goal from thirty yards out, and goalkeeper Smith never saw the ball till it 'was in the back of the net.
On resuming equality was the main feature of the play, and a long period of midfield exchanges was the result. Then the Dons made headway, and Donald and McDermid both had tries which deserved a better fate. The Strollers held out well, however, and in spite of persistent attacks by the visitor's the score was still 1-1 when the final whistle blew.
