Reserves on Mark at Pittodrie

A 2-1 WIN for Aberdeen "A," against Motherwell "A" at Pittodrie was a fair reflex of the play in the Reserve League game. The Young Dons certainly created more scoring chances than their opponents, but when it came to finishing they were weak.
A feature was another fine display at centre half by Kenny Thomson, former Banks o' Dee player. He gave nothing away and stopped many Well attacks. The home inside trio, Smith, McIntyre, and Hume, showed some clever touches, but their play lacked bite.
Sinclair, Smith and Robertson were the best Motherwell players, and the last mentioned got their only goal. Preston got Aberdeen's first counter from the penalty spot, and missed another spot kick. Smith scrambled home the winning goal midway through the second half.
