A GOAL-LESS draw was the right result at Ibrox, where both Aberdeen and Rangers reserves were poor finishers. Otherwise it was an interesting game.
Rangers started off as if they were going to carry everything before them. Caskie was in grand form and his crosses were perfect, but there was never anyone to finish the good work - and anything Johnstone had to deal with was feeble.
It took Aberdeen some time to get going. They looked the likelier lot, but Niven in the home goal was safe.
The Dons' outstanding performers were Millar, who had the shot of the match in the first half with an express drive which Niven brilliantly cleared, and Glen.
Finlay at right half also gave a good display. He could beat his man with ease and kept his forwards moving nicely, but their finishing was wide the target.
