Satisfying Fare.

Under excellent weather conditions the Dons and Falkirk gave a display of fighting football at Pittodrie that must have pleased even the severest of critics. The game was fought cleanly and at high speed for the ninety minutes and reflects favourably on the sportsmanship of the twenty-two players and also on their physical condition. It was clear from the start that the visitors were out to wipe away the stigma of that home defeat from Motherwell and they set about their task with determination and skill. For the first twenty minutes they played really well and with a bit of luck, might have done more damage than the single goal scored in brilliant fashion by O'Hara. After that the Dons had more of the game and in the end were worthy winners. Most of the spectators would agree that the penalty decision against Falkirk was justified - but it would be difficult to get the visitors to agree!! Manager Smith has a great opinion of goalkeeper Slater and maintains that one day he will play for Scotland. That may come true - it would be equally true to say that he will never beat the display put up by his substitute last Wednesday, for "Bobby" Brown gave an exhibition that has not been equalled by a visiting goalie for many a year. Some of his saves were almost uncanny and the Dons must have been wondering if it was possible to get the ball into the net. Brown well deserved the ovation he received at the finish.
