In the absence of the first string of the Aberdeen Club at Dunfermline the Aberdeen A had as their guests at Pittodrie in a friendly match, the Brechin Hearts. The pitch was very slippery. The teams were:- Aberdeen: Ritchie; Moir, Brebner; Black, Thomson, Murphy; Clark, Murdoch, Mackie, Wilson, Shiach. Brechin Hearts: Milne; McGarrie, Bruce; Crichton, Croall, Coutts; Barclay, Quinn, Easson, Pender, Heatherington. Referee - Mr. Lowson, Aberdeen.
The game, although of a somewhat rugged nature, was fairly interesting. The Hearts had scored two goals which were disallowed for infringements before they had a legitimate goal to their credit, Easson scoring. The goal was thoroughly deserved on play. Aberdeen shortly after equalised. Mackie added a second goal for the homesters.
Brechin secured a pealty early in the second half, but failed to profit by it. Glen put on the equaliser for Brechin, and then, t put the issue beyond doubt, Aberdeen scored twice through Shiach and Mackie.
