Young Dons Lucky To Get Two Points

A FAST game at Links Park between Montrose and Aberdeen "A" was spoiled by too many fouls, both sides being guilty.

Montrose's new left winger, Tommy Henderson, had a good debut, but deserved more luck.
The visitors opened with a shock goal in thirty seconds which left the Montrose supporters gasping. Strachan, after good tries, got the equaliser ih eleven minutes, and from then to half-time exchanges were fairly even, With McNeill scoring for Aberdeen.
Boyd gave the Montrose left flank a busy afternoon, but might have done better by cutting into the centre more often.
Montrose piled on the pressure after the restart, but Shaw and Thomson kept them at bay. In a breakaway an Aberdeen attacker was upended in the penalty area, and Bruce made no mistake.
Montrose kept plugging away, but their only reward was a scrambled goal by Strachan. On the run of play they deserved a point.
