Profile: |
Derek's time at Pittodrie was a period where he faced a battle for first team football because of the presence of first Theo Snelders, then Nicky Walker and finally Jim Leighton, as well as competition from Michael Watt. Consequently he chose to move on at the end of season 1998-99 to join Wigan Athletic.
Whilst a player Stillie kept up his studies, ultimately qualifying as a solicitor to work with a London law firm.
