Profile: |
Will go down in Aberdeen history as the first Dons captain to lead the club to success in the Southern League Cup in 1946 and the Scottish Cup a year later. Signed from Benburb in 1936 he developed in to a tough defender with great leadership qualities. Was also in the Aberdeen side that played in the 1937 Final.
During the Second World War, Frank served full-time in the ARP, but was able to resume his playing career in time for the cup successes of the 40's.
Left Pittodrie in 1948 and emigrated to South Africa. A few years later, Frank returned to Aberdeen where he worked for Claude Hamilton Electrical, a firm that did a lot of work at Pittodrie for many years.
Frank passed away in Aberdeen, 1991. A number of his career medals are held in The Aberdeen Collection
