Profile: |
"James Robertson, the clever outside right of the Aberdeen, hails from the Glasgow district, where he early came to the front as a player of parts. His success was recognised by Third Lanark, whom he served before going to England. He proved a good catch for Middlesbrough, but, not taking on to the severe routine there, he next took his way southwards, and played for New Brompton up till last season. On trial at the end of lat May for Aberdeen, the directors signed him on, and since the month of September he has proved an unqualified success as a wing player. It would be no exaggeration to say that he is the finest outside right that has been seen in the Granite City for many a day. Jim is one of the go-a-head players, whom to watch is to admire. May he long continue in his present form, and wear the black and gold jersey."

"Jim Robertson, the outside right, came from Middlesbrough to Aberdeen last season. He has played for Third Lanark and New Brompton, and is a very difficult man to hold once he gets away with the ball." [Aberdeen Evening Gazette 26th November 1904]
