Centre Forward

Profile

Squad Number: 9
Position: Centre Forward
Date of Birth: Sunday, May 24, 1885
Birthplace: Aberdeen
Nationality: Scottish
Signed: 02/06/1906
Allan had started his career at Pittodrie with some success in the reserves and after only a few weeks he found himself in the first team. Although he was playing at inside forward for the reserves he was given his chance as centre forward, very much a problem position during this period. Despite doing 'fairly' well on his debut he had unfortunately failed to provide the missing link in attack and was returned to the reserves. He continued as a regular in the reserves for the remainder of the season and was retained at the end of the 1906-07 season. He began the following season once again as a regular in the reserves but by September he had lost his place and found himself on loan to junior side Harp for a period. Allan was not on the retained list for the 1908-09 season and was believed to have returned to play junior football.
